TITLE:   Security Guard – Red Mesa

EMPLOYMENT TERMS:  Twelve (12) Months –various night, day and weekend shifts

SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Classified Non-Exempt Salary

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide a safe and secure environment for students employees, residents and visitor; to assist in preventing fire, theft, vandalism or illegal entry.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

CERTIFICATION:  CPR/First Aid; Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

MODERATE RISK OCCUPATIONAL CONDITION:  Moderate risk.

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:  Excellent verbal and written skills, both in English and Navajo; differentiation of activities that might be threatening from those that are not; ability to communicate details to law enforcement officials; good memory.

 

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: General knowledge of law enforcement rules and regulations, governing board rules regarding security of the facilities and sites.

QuALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:  High School diploma or equivalent;

EXPERIENCE:  One-year or more, training certificates.

SUPERVISION:   Must use own initiative and judgment.

RESPONSIBILITY:  Responsible for valuable equipment.

LICENCE:        Valid Arizona Driver’s License

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time; must be able to walk all sites; must be able to move quickly to or from a threatening scene, or to assist people.

PUBLIC CONTACT: Interact primarily with students and the general public.
