TITLE:  Construction Teacher-High School

 

EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Ten (10) months. Salary and work year are to be establish by the board.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

To develop in each pupil an insight and understanding of Construction and its place in our society; to discover and develop talents of pupils in the technical fields; to develop practical problem solving skills related to the materials and processes of woodworking/drafting: to develop in each pupil skill in the safe use of tools and machines.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Teaches skills and appropriate learning activities in one or more courses in construction to secondary students, utilizing course objectives adopted by the Governing
  2. Instruct students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the
  3. Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, demonstration and working
  4. Demonstrate industrial materials, equipment, tools and processes, using standard and teacher prepared models, mock-ups, sketches, and other instructional aid
  5. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment.
  6. Instruct in use of eye protection and safety guards, and in the use, care, and safe operation of tools, machines and
  7. Maintains control over storage and use of school-owned materials, equipment, and tools to prevent loss or abuse.
  8. Make requests for repairs to tools and equipment as
  9. Evaluates each student's performance and growth in knowledge and understanding, and prepares progress reports.
  10. Establishes and maintains standards of student conduct needed to provide an orderly, safe, and productive environment in an activity-type classroom with many potential hazards.
  11. Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth
  12. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with district
  13. Communicate with parents and school counselors on student
  14. Cooperate in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Certification: State Arizona Secondary Teaching Certification: Degree(s) required and area of major study: Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Vocational Woodshop Teacher- High School

Experience: Kind and amount of prior job experience required, and such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may fine appropriate and acceptable.

 

Education: Bachelors or Master Degree. License: Valid Driver's License PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

EVALUATION PROCEDURE: Performance of this job will be evaluate in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
